Sunday Stash - Fun Fabric Bundles and Project Ideas

I've been busy making a few fun fabric bundles again for the shop. Most of them are one of a kind bundle, which means only 1 bundle is available. I really love creating bundles but my time is limited and being a solopreneur doing 101 things, I feel a bit overwhelmed sometimes :)

This time mostly I made fat 8 bundles and a few fat quarter bundles as well. Check out below some of the bundles that I already put up in my Etsy Shop.

If you just started your sewing or quilting journey, a fabric bundle is a good start. You can make many things from bundles. I made a few face masks and pouches and of course a few quilts too.

I made this pouch and the coaster too. I shared the tutorial for the pouch in my last post or you can see it on my Youtube Channel.

Or you can practice making fabric lanyard.

Thank you for your supports all these years, let's hope 2021 will bring some good news for us.

Happy Crafting,

More mini quilts

Hello,

More mini quilts are finished. Some of them I finished a few  weeks ago but just get the time to take a blog worthy pictures!

This morning after breakfast, I set up my camera, gathering the prop and background and taking some pictures.

This pink table topper was finished a couple of weeks ago. The fabrics are all Indian fabrics. I love the multi color floral print matching the small floral pink and the ikat prints. The quilting was done in my Jack industrial machine with organic curvy lines (my new fave!!).

I also finished another 2 mug rugs. This design is my all time fave. I used 2.5" x 2.5" for the patchwork pieces and added a blue shot cotton fabric to tone down the bright pink and orange fabric.

I always find simple quilting lines are best! I used straight line and diagonal grid for the mug rugs.

The green mini quilt above was an orphan block. I called it monsoon in a jar because of the umbrella print! I did the curvy quilting diagonally and I love the effect on it!

All binding for the mini quilts were finished my hand.

Stay tuned for more mini quilts!!

What is your fave quilt size to make?

Thank you for stopping by!

Until then,

~  Elvira ~

Sunday Stash 10 - Indigo Fabrics

Hello,

Indigo is everywhere! Whatever you make, it will look stunning, from dresses to bags, etc.

Small Floral Block Print Cotton

I recently added a couple of Indigo blue fabrics in my ETSY SHOP and CHEZVIES SHOP (India only). The indigo based with small floral above will be prefect for dresses or even a pouch or a quilt.

I really love this white based with big floral. It is a soft cotton which I think would be great to make a wholecloth quilt or a pillow cover.

White Based Indigo Floral

Another fave is this small print floral. It's block print linen fabric. I made a passport holder for order with the same fabric.

Sunday Stash 09 - Kalamkari Fabrics

Hello,

Kalamkari is an Indian heritage which in ancient days was made by drawing folktales (using pen =kalam) into a piece fabric. However in modern days, kalamkari mostly done by hand printing using pre-made wooden blocks. Thus, imperfections of colors and prints from the hand printing process are an added charms of all Indian block printed fabrics.

In the ancient times, kalamkari
mostly depicted the episodes of Indian mythology, as  similar to the stained glasses of the Christian cathedrals. (source)

Indian Floral Kalamkari Print

In Modern times, many kalamkari designs are digitalized to create digital print kalamkari which is widely popular. However traditional method of block print using wooden block is still widely used.

Buddha Print Kalamkari Mudcloth

Kalamkari specifically depicts epics such as the Ramayana or Mahabharata. However, in recent time, you will find kalamkari depicting Buddhist Art forms too, musical instruments, florals, animals and others.

Sunday Stash #2 - Vibrant Indian Fabric Bundles

Hello,

Today I spent my morning cutting a couple of fabrics to make fabric bundles for the shops. I cut a lot of greens and yellows today. You can check my Instagram to get a sneak peek of what's coming! Meanwhile, I listed a couple of fabric bundles in ETSY SHOP and you can also find them in my WEBSHOP if you're in India.

Scrap Bundle
I will add more scrap bundles like the one above. It consists of smaller scraps with maximum size around fat eighth (9" x 21").

The popular greens and blues

The blues and greens are always popular. They are also my personal favorite. Especially teal blue.

Burnt orange and red

Don't you love these white based fabrics?
Low volume - white based bundle

Indian fabrics have unique prints and colors. Some prints always available and some are seasonal. Go ahead and take a look at the shops. Pick your fave bundles. Most of them are only one bundle available, so it's a one of a kind fabric bundle. If you like,  I can also make customized bundles.

I hope you have a relaxing Sunday!

Happy Sewing,
